And in the morning when I kiss his eyes/
He takes me down and rocks me slow.
Whitney Houston’s “All The Man That I Need” is an incredibly well-written song. It rightfully gets overshadowed by Whitney’s amazing performance. I think Whitney Houston is one of the most under-rated performers—to music critics. Like what are they listening to?
Of course, fans adore her.
The way that Whitney hits the high notes on this song has practically ruined 20 years of American Idol and The Voice and the like. Every female singer thinks they should try to do something like this. They shouldn’t. They just shouldn’t. It would be like someone in a slam dunk contest sticking his tongue out. It has already been done by the best. Find a new gimmick.
Back to the song, the lyrics are remarkable sensual. It features the lyrics “he fills me up”. I suppose that could be interpreted in different ways. Perhaps she is talking “spiritually or emotionally”. I think the sax solo sounds good. Also, I like the finger-snapping. You can rarely go wrong with that.
All the Man That I Need Lyrics
I used to cry myself to sleep at night
But that was all before he came
I thought love had to hurt to turn out right
But now he’s here
It’s not the same, it’s not the same
He fills me up
He gives me love
More love than I’ve ever seen
He’s all I’ve got
He’s all I’ve got in this world
But he’s all the man that I need
And in the morning when I kiss his eyes
He takes me down and rocks me slow
And in the evening when the moon is high
He holds me close and won’t let go
He won’t let go
He fills me up
He gives me love
More love than I’ve ever seen
He’s all I’ve got
He’s all I’ve got in this world
But he’s all the man that I need
He fills me up
He gives me love
More love than I’ve ever seen
He’s all I’ve got
He’s all I’ve got in this world
But he’s all the man that I need
He fills me up
He gives me love
More love than I’ve ever seen
He’s all I’ve got
He’s all I’ve got in this world
But he’s all the man that I need
